Tasmanian Salmonid Growers Association

About

The Tasmanian Salmonid Growers’ Association Ltd is Tasmania’s peak body representing salmon growers throughout Australia’s beautiful island state.

The Tasmanian Salmonid Growers Association (TSGA) is a not for profit organisation established by its grower members over 25 years ago to represent the Industry by working with Federal and State Governments and their Regulatory Agencies.

TSGA is charged by its members with ensuring that reasonable and viable operating standards and conditions are established for the Industry by an Industry/Government partnership within an appropriate regulatory framework. Hitherto, more than 75% of TSGA’s income has been committed to strategic projects, R&D and fish health monitoring programmes.

A key to the future success of the industry, of which TSGA will play an important role, is the need to co-ordinate and facilitate:

  • collaborative research that aims to deliver quantifiable outcomes, lower production costs, sustainable growth, while maintaining and improving product quality; and
  • working with Government to establish a workable framework of regulation and self-regulation aimed at ensuring long term sustainability
